HAVE A "HOOT" OF A BIRTHDAY

HI EVERYONE

I must say I am really enjoying my holiday, as it now gives me time to really be creative.. Although I am in between making invitations, I can always find time to make some challenge cards because I really get inspired!! When I got up this morning I drew this cute little owl, took into photoshop, cleaned it up and produced  my very first Digi (hopefully a few more to come :)  I then decided to copic it up and make a card with my digi owl...

and I did :)

For the background I used recycled brown paper and used a scrunch technique which I saw on Stamp TV, applied walnut stain distress ink over the top ( shows the veins of the paper), then distressed the outer.. I used light green (or mint) and rich chocolate card stock,  mint chocolate patterned paper and scalloped nesties as well as circle cookie cutter dies.

For the owl, I did a 3 layer paper tole effect and added some big eyes (which really looks effective) and I made the roof out icy pole sticks (after the craft show I am now into incorporating wood into my cards) and used tan and walnut distress inks on it. You can also open the little roof (as I made that into a card and stamped the sentiment "A Day to Celebrate")
