TILDA AND EDWIN ARE OFF TO FAIRY LAND

HI EVERYONE!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day/night :)
I made this fun card today because I've had this image of Edwin and Tilda, in my head for a while and decided to make it into a unusual shaped card.
It's not the normal type card I make but I do like the outcome..
Here is a close up

And here is a close up of the brick road that I embossed
I added this cute little wooden post with the sentiment "Welcome to Fairyland"
And lastly here is view looking down at the entire card...
Anyway I hope you liked it, now I'm off to some challenge sites before I go to bed as

ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT FOR CHRISTMAS

HI EVERYONE
I am so exhausted tonight after what seemed to be a never ending day at work but I managed to hop on my computer to post my last Christmas card for 2010.
And although I love Sweet Peas...I still love working with Magnolia  stamps because they soooo cute and so great to colour:)
And because my favourite colour is blue, I had to use that colour for Tilda and her ornaments. (I added a touch of mauve too in the distressing)
I just love the sentiment I got from BIZZY BECS as a freebie, it really sets off the card. (Check out Bizzy Becs as she has some beautiful free images from time to time)
And yes, I have used this image of Tilda before,  it's so nice for Christmas...
I have added lots of sparkle, white lace and blue ribbon..Kaisrecraft patterned paper from the Utopia collection, white and black card stock, gorgeous blue white roses with a splash of blue sparkle, lace bow and a tiny bell.
And my last Christmas challenge this card will go to:
MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER - a gift for you (from Santa in the sentiment)
HAVE A HAPPY DAY

YOU ARE NOT ALONE AT CHRISTMAS :)

HI EVERYONE
After a terrible night sleeping I got at the crack of dawn and decided to post this card...and for good reason. But I just wanted to let them  know that they are not alone and as a crafter we are always here...because everyone needs a friend at Christmas :)
and I would like this card to the following challenges to share card and sentiments:)

COPIC CREATIONS - light source (from the top)
CRAFT OUR PASSIONS - anything goes
CRAZY CHALLENGE - all I want for christmas

ANOTHER MAGNOLIA CHRISTMAS GREETING

HI EVERYONE
I couldn't resist making this cute card with our forever loving Tilda hiding her Christmas goodies behind her back....I wanted this card with very little white in it and I think I succeeded. I wanted to use as many different colors as I could instead of the blues, reds and purples that I normally use. So here is my card...Hope you like it:)
and a side view to show that I applied a 2 layer paper tole technique..When papertoling cards I try not to make them too thick as I have problems putting them into envelopes.
These are the Great Challenges Sites I want to enter:

JUST MAGNOLIA - anything goes with glitter
DAISY DOODLES - anything goes

A GLO IN THE DARK CHRISTMAS

HI EVERYONE,
As you know I have been making some really different cards for Christmas lately and this one is just another example......
I call this a no frills card because there's not alot to it, apart from the cute owl, flowers and butterfly image all coloured with copic markers and some really nice rub on sentiments I bought at a craft show.
But there is something a little unique about this card and it's all to do with the moon in the background.....It glows
It was a little hard to take the picture  because the flash kept coming on..but trust me, the moon really does glo in the dark and the tiny stars come to life too...
I'm always looking for different ways of making cards especially when it comes to images....and challenges :)
SCRAP CREATIONS - blue and white
FUSSY AND FANCY - christmas with no red or green
SOUTHERN GIRLS CHALLENGE - favourite colour (blue ofcourse)
PEAR TREE DESIGNS - colourful
CRAFTY CREATIONS - christmas is coming
A SPOONFUL OF SUGAR - anything goes
INCY WINCY - blue and white
CREATIVE COTTAGE - untraditional christmas
ONE STITCH AT A TIME - season or event
FABNFUNKY - going with the flow
FRESH BREWED - winter/christmas theme
KABER CHRISTMAS - use a digi
I think I may have gone overboard but hey! It's Christmas and it all about sharing ;)
See Ya!! Huggs xxx Lynn

A CHRISTMAS PIXIE IN PINK AND BROWN

HI EVERYONE,
Here is another non traditional Christmas Card...and I used lots of pinks and browns. Although many people prefer the traditional Christmas color scheme of greens and reds,  some people like something a little different.
and it really is different...I used an pixie image I had in my picture file and coloured it with copics..For the background I used pink card stock and cre8tiv romance series patterned paper (picked it up at KMart ). Brown card stock was used for the backing of the image. I also stamped and distressed a sentiment and added stickles to the edges...not forgetting I stickled the flowers and snowflakes as well and used some distress inks..
It was an easy card to make and took no time at all.
Here are the challenge sites I am sending it too..
FABNFUNKY - forget me not
SIMPLE DOODLES - cute as a button
FRESH BREWED - show off your style
ABC CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE - x is for xmas
KABER CHRISTMAS - use a digi
DIGI DOODLES - anything goes
SIMON SAYS - sparkle
TOTALLY PAPERCRAFTS - snow and snowflakes

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND AND I WILL BE BACK LATER WITH SOME MORE CARDS AND SOME INTERESTING BLOG CANDY INFO

A SWEET HOLOGRAPHIC CHRISTMAS

HI EVERYONE
Lately the cards I have been making for Christmas are not my usual style although I really like doing them this way..and I think it's because of the images I have been using..Sweet Pea images are really  special and you can transform these beautiful images into practically any type of card..
I used a holographic background and sponged it with Tim Holtz alcohol inks and then sprayed it with gold shimmer..and other  backgrounds are corrugated lime green and red metallic - I haven't used corrugated paper for ages and thought I would try them out...
The adhesive lace border is from Craft Kingdom, I bought that at a craft show and the sentiment is from a rag bag of chipboard sentiments I recently purchased.
And this lovely sweet pea image is one of four I recently won in a challenge at
In a SweetPea Dream. I used copics (of course) and added a few little pearls in the corner.
And now for some fun!!
MY PARTNER IN CRIME - marker madness
PAPERCUTZ - bling
MELIJENS - sparkle and shine
FROSTED DESIGNS - distressing
DOTTIES WORLD - lots of red
Thanks for taking the time to visit me and I hope to see you all again

BLUE, BLUE, MY WORLD IS BLUE....

HI EVERYONE
If you know me by now, you have to know my most (apart from purple and maybe a little red) favorite color is BLUE. From the deep blue sea, to the beautiful blue skies and to my husband enchanting blue eyes, it's no wonder.  It's such a powerful uplifting color and it always makes me feel good. And when I was making this sweet pea card of blue, I felt it didn't need a sentiment..the beautiful image really said it all.......
And also if you look closely you will see that the image is cracked and I must say I enjoyed doing that part (the cracking) as well. Here's closer look..

I wanted to try something a little different with the sweet pea stamps this time. I think it turned out ok. But I will let you decide :)
A SPOONFUL OF SUGAR - snowflakes
MY TIME TO CRAFT - rhapsody of roses
CCEE STAMPERS - store bought flowers
CUTE CARD THURSDAY - anything goes
LILY OF THE VALLEY - anything goes
CHARACTER CAFE - embossing
FLUTTERBY WEDNESDAY - window card (mine's round)
Have a great day and see you later on....

MAGNOLIA'S DREAM TEAM SKATING ON ICE

HI EVERYONE,
Well, you may have noticed I haven't been up to my usual blogging self, as I am still trying to get over this dreaded virus/flu that I've had for almost a week.... and it really is hard to shake off. But today I had to make the effort with this card of Tilda and Edwin on skates.
I wanted the card, sort of plain and simple, not to detract from the main image, and just used a few embellishments, two types of patterned paper, some added bling, distressed inks, stickles, my sentiment I created on elements 8 and a diamond star charm....I also added some faux stitching around the card and papers.
and I couldn't go without adding to some challenges (could I ;)
MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER - make your embelli's (snowfakes)
JUST MAGNOLIA - donalda's sketch
CUTE CARD THURSDAY - anything goes
TOTALLY TILDA - blue and silver

A SWEET PEA CHRISTMAS CARD WITH A TWIST OF RED

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE
The weather here in Melbourne is really wet and miserable, so I have taken full advantage of the weather and nestled in my craft room for some creative fun today!
And before I begin I am now a DT member of Gingerloft (my first appointment) and I am really excited about that! Sorry just had to tell you that :)
Anyway, here is a card I made with my wonderful sweet pea image - RESTLESS THOUGHTS.
Lately I have been using a lot of red in my cards, maybe it's because of the pending wedding on the 7th Nov, for Val (who is a red, anything, fanatic) and Miki..
I used very little in this card...
For the background I used white card stock and 4 different types of stamps. Then I distressed it with 3 different coloured inks from Tim Holtz. The glitter effect of crystal rain I made with glitter glue and applied it to acetate and stuck it down with crystal effects. I used my blossom nesti for the backing of my image and copics to colour. Then for the image I used 4 types of copics from the red and
orange copic range..
And to finish it off I added a piece of red satin ribbon and made a bow then added 4 red gem stones to the top of the card.
It was such an easy card to make, the only hold up was the glitter dry time but I did that the night before. Anyway I do hope you enjoy my card :)
Now it's time to post it to my favourite challenge sites:
IN A SWEET PEA DREAM - things with wings
ABC CHALLENGES - g is for glitter
CREATIVE CARD CREW - let's punch it out
FUSSY 'N' FANCY - winter wonderland (wk2)
A SPOONFUL OF SUGAR - let's get punchy
CUTE CARD THURSDAY - so transparent
HAVE A GREAT CREATIVE DAY!!

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS - SWEET PEA STYLE

HI EVERYONE
I've had such a busy morning and now things have settled down a little I managed to make another Sweet Pea card (I just adore the images of Sweet Peas). I bought the two patterned papers this morning from my favourite store SCRAPPERS WAREHOUSE  and I wasn't sure whether they would go together but I think they have...
I found some really unusual gold metal ribbon and the top from a gold tassel I had hidden away in my craft stash, so I added them to the card too. The swirls I dotted, were from light gold liquid pearls.  I was going to add some flowers but I thought maybe it would a little too much. And for the sentiment I used a cork backed embellishment, which I thought blended in nicely.
I love the versatility of Sweet Pea stamps because they can be used for any occasion...and colouring them with copics is just a dream...
And now with the card completed, I will add it to the following challenge sites:
IN A SWEET PEA DREAM - all about christmas
PEAR TREE DESIGN - free for all
TUESDAY THROWDOWN - anything goes
DELIGHTFUL SKETCHES - beginning to look like christmas
CRAFT CREATIONS - red, brown and green
CRAFTY PURPLE FROG - anything goes
DOTTIE'S WORLD - anything goes
I hope you enjoy my card and I will see you all again
very soon :)
huggs

WHAT A WEEK!

HI ALL,
It has been quite a week for my poor hubby, Col and his big toe and other work related issues, {that are better left unsaid}. He managed to fracture it yesterday, and although he's in pain, he hasn't complained and still has a smile on his face...that's why I love him so much!!
And because his toe was all shades of purple and black, I made this card with my sweet pea stamp, (sounds a little corny I know..lol), as a momento.
The black backing paper over the purple card stock, I cut out with my craft robo. I also cut out a circle from acetate where I applied dimensional magic, dye inks, and diamond blue glitter and then layed purple tissue paper over it..and allowed it to dry overnight.
I also used dye inks on the blue and purple roses, and they dried almost instantly. I used some stickles to the roses just as highlights.
I also added 2 rows of purple beads, which was really hard to mould but with the help of dimensional magic and various objects to keep the beads in place...they dried and managed to stay in place. Here's another view of the card
And with this card I would like to enter into the following challenges :)
LITTLE PAPER SHOP - stickles or glitter
ABC CHALLENGES - f is for flowers
SCRAP CREATIONS - christmas
COOKING IT UP WITH KATIE - recipe (2 of something)
FLUTTERBY WEDNESDAY - things with wings

I'M IN THE MOOD FOR A RED CHRISTMAS

HI EVERYONE
After making all the red table tags for Val's Wedding, I thought, why not a red Christmas card and tag too! Now, I know the tag's a little large (lol) but how about if someone gave you a huge present and needed a huge tag to go with it, this would have be the one!
A perfect matching set!
I used lots of bling and tons of glitter (similar to my blue Christmas card) distressed, pierced the border and added the perfect charm for Tilda to sit on...A diamond heart which was an old earring from early days...added some red satin ribbon, a cute epoxy reindeer, snow white pearls, flower soft to her hat and added a fun sentiment "Believe" to finish it off.
Here's a better look at the card...
and a close up of that diamond earring
I forgot to mention the papers I used and they are red card stock, Cre8tiv patterned paper I bought last year and a beautiful speciality paper called Embossed Ivory Pearl (not sure of the brand)...
Making the card and tag, did take some time though, with all the glitter and bling but I loved making them. And now for all the hard work I would love to add to these great challenge sites :)
CHRISTMAS STAMPIN' ALL YEAR LONG - inspirational challenge
IF THE SHOE FITS - a holiday for the holidays
QUIXOTIC PAPERIE - christmas is coming

MEET SYVONNE... MY NEW PINUP DIGI IMAGE

HI EVERYONE
I'm so excited to introduce you to my first digi image that I created and her name is
SYVONNE...MYSTICAL AND MAGICAL
I doodled her on my way home from work one afternoon and then completed her at home in Adobe Elements (well cleaned her up, so to speak). Now, I know she's not perfect but I had fun creating her and I am almost finished my number 2 image as well.
Here's what she looked liked like in the early stages (excuse the watermarks)

And here is Syvonne on my card
For the background I used my Sunrays embossing folder that I bought at Scrappers Warehouse (love this folder) and sprayed it with Memories Mist (iridescent) and the butterflies also. Not to mention copic coloring :)
I also pierced the boarders of the black card stock and added different coloured stickles for lots of glitter.
I couldn't resist adding my cute little necklace charm that I  found in an old jewelry box. And the mini roses worked a treat around one side of the scalloped edge... and ofcourse the sentiment I created in photoshop.
Quick tip: THIS CARD COULD BE USED FOR BIRTHDAYS, OR FRIENDSHIP OR EVEN A THANKYOU CARD...it just depends on what you put on the inside of the card :)
